Do your part to promote Public Schools Week
Write a personal note to your legislator about why you believe public schools are important and deserve full funding. Include personal triumphs, student success stories, and challenges that prevent you and your colleagues from providing the highest quality education to students.
Take a selfie with your shirt. Post a selfie to social media celebrating public schools with the hashtag #publicschoolproud. Tell your friends and family why you are proud to work in a public school.
Encourage others to participate. Students, parents, community leaders, friends, and colleagues can all probably remember a story to tell about their favorite teacher or what they learned in school that has benefited them their entire lives. Ask them to post a message to social media supporting public schools using the hashtag #publicschoolsweek or #publicschoolproud.
