Privacy/Terms of Use Policy
Introduction
Missouri NEA takes your right to privacy seriously. Any information collected through the MNEA website or mobile app is the sole property of Missouri NEA/NEA and will not be shared, sold, or distributed to any other party. This privacy policy deals with personally identifiable information (referred to as "data" below) that may be collected by this site. This policy does not apply to other entities that are not owned or controlled by MNEA, nor does it apply to persons who are not employees or agents of MNEA.
1. Collection of data
Registration for the MNEA members-only website and mobile app requires proof of membership. Data collected at the time a person completes a membership application with MNEA may be contained in the secure online member registry. The member registry is only accessible by MNEA select staff and agents. Once user login registration is complete, a returning member will need a valid Member ID and password to access profile information for him/herself, which may include data such as name, address, and email address. Returning users will have access to the Members Only portion of the MNEA.org website and/or mobile app by using a valid Member ID, which matches the last name and zip code on file.
MNEA non-members will not have access to the MNEA members-only website or mobile app, but can register for events/conferences. During the registration process for MNEA events/conferences, non-members may be required to set up a user ID and password as well as enter other data such as email address that will be stored on the secure server only accessible by MNEA select staff and agents.
Individual users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of passwords and user IDs and will be responsible for all usage of user account and/or user name, whether authorized or not authorized. You agree to immediately notify the site administrator of any unauthorized use of your user account, user name, or password.
As on many websites, the site administrator may also automatically receive general information that is contained in server log files, such as your IP address, and cookie information.
2. Use of data
Data may be used to customize and improve your user experience on the MNEA website and mobile app. Efforts will be made to prevent your data from being made available to third parties unless (i) your consent is obtained, such as when you choose to opt-in or opt-out for the sharing of data; (ii) a service provided on our site requires interaction with a third party, or is provided by a third party, such as an application service provider.
3. Editing or deleting your account information
Once logged into the website, you are provided with the ability to edit the information stored within your user profile by visiting your user profile control panel. A link to this can be found in the upper right-hand corner of the MNEA.org Members Only website. If you cancel your membership with MNEA, your account profile information will be deleted and you will no longer be able to access the MNEA Members Only area within the mobile app or website.
4. Reservation of rights
Missouri NEA reserves all of the rights, including but not limited to any and all copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and any other proprietary rights with respect to the MNEA website, its content, and goods and services. The use of content contained on this site may be used with either the prior written consent of MNEA or the proper Associated Press (AP) style reference to MNEA.org.
5. Use of Location Services
Users of the MNEA mobile app or website may choose to turn on "location services" on their mobile device in the foreground for mapping functionality. Use of Location Services is not required for use of the MNEA website or mobile app, but users may choose to turn on services to increase functionality. Specifically, while using the MNEA mobile app, users who choose to turn on location services can get directions to MNEA offices and Missouri schools and administrative offices. MNEA does not collect, save, reproduce, or sell any location services data. Location Services is not required to run in the background to use the MNEA mobile app or website.
6. Permissions and APIs
As a service and feature to MNEA members, we allow users to log in to the MNEA website and mobile app to view their MNEA membership card containing their name and Member ID number. The login process uses a secure API to access said information. The user must log in with their current individual ID, last name, and zip code to access their profile containing the membership card. All three forms of identification must match in order for a user to gain access. Personal and/or sensitive data is NOT sold or shared with third parties for the purpose of facilitating a sale. By logging in to the MNEA.org website or mobile app, users are consenting to the use of API to access their own personal data that Missouri NEA has on file for the member/user.
By making services available to you (the user), the site administrator is not providing you with any implied or express licenses or rights, and you will have no rights to make any commercial use of this website, mobile app, or MNEA-affiliated websites.
Cancellations, Refunds, Shipping Policies
1. Goods
Missouri NEA runs an online merchandise store. Many of the items available for sale display the MNEA logo(s) and can be used to promote the Association. The store URL is https://www.mnea.org/store. The MNEA merchandise/image item store policies are as follows:
Refunds/Cancellation policy: All sales are final. Contact MNEA at 1-800-392-0236 if you have any questions about MNEA merchandise.
Return policy: Contact MNEA at 1-800-392-0236 if you should need to return merchandise due to damages that may have occurred during shipping.
Delivery/Shipping charges: As MNEA offers the MNEA merchandise store as a service to MNEA members, our shipping charges are quite lenient and many items can be ordered with free shipping. Otherwise, shipping is calculated using the weight of the item and is shipped via UPS ground service.
2. Event/Conference Registrations
Missouri NEA hosts a variety of conferences and events that MNEA members and non-members can register for online. All sales are final and no refunds will be issued unless otherwise stated in the event/conference registration or mutually agreed upon by the MNEA staff representative.
3. Donations/Contributions
Missouri NEA offers a Political Action Committee (PAC) contribution form in which members can make donations online. The cancellation/refund policy is as follows: All donations made through the online contribution form are final. You will be mailed a receipt that will include the total of contributions made to MNEA PAC.
Website Security
Missouri NEA uses secure socket layer (SSL) encryption services and payment gateway services provided by Pay Pal - Pay Flow Pro to ensure all electronic fund transactions that take place through/on the MNEA website and/or mobile app are secure.
