Vote for Public Education Nov. 3

In today’s environment, elections play an important role in shaping the future of public education and protecting the interests of students. At every level of government, it is important to have elected officials who understand the value of strong public schools and are committed to supporting educators and students. That means looking beyond party affiliation and considering candidates who support adequate school funding, provide educators with the resources and assistance they need, and prioritize student success.

Missouri NEA members represent a wide range of political perspectives, including Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. What unites them is a shared commitment to protecting students and strengthening public education.

YES on Amendment 6

Prohibit the Missouri Legislature from repealing or amending a citizen initiative unless at least 80% of both the House and Senate vote to refer a proposed change to the ballot, and voters then approve the change; and would also prohibit the Missouri Legislature from making changes to the citizen initiative and referendum process.

NO on Proposition A

Vote "NO" to repeal House Bill 1. Missouri House Bill 1 (passed in a September 2025 special session by the Missouri Legislature) redrew the state's eight federal congressional districts mid-decade into a 7–1 Republican-leaning configuration, outside the normal process tied to the 10-year census cycle, and without a vote of the people. It replaced the 2022 congressional maps while purposely splitting urban Kansas City-based District 5 across multiple rural districts.
