Professional Grants

Reliant Financial Services Tuition Grant 

MNEA members who are taking college courses to further their careers in education may benefit from this $500 grant made possible by Reliant Financial Services. Recipients are chosen by a random drawing.

The NEA Foundation Grants

The NEA Foundation has invested over $8 million in grants to support the work of more than 5,000 educators from every state in the country, helping students succeed. Grants of up to $5,000 are awarded in three categories-- Student Success Grants, Learning and Leadership Grants, and Envision Equity Grants. Apply during one of the grant cycles listed below.

Global Learning Fellowship 

Public school educators develop the knowledge and skills to integrate global competency into their daily classroom instruction during a year-long professional learning experience focused on educating and empowering students for global citizenship, culminating in a 10-day international field study.

Student Scholarships

GBMSGilbert Balderrama Scholarship

Named for one of Missouri NEA's UniServ directors, this $500 scholarship is awarded to one high school senior of color, graduating from a Missouri public school, who has been accepted to pursue a degree at a college or university.

Cochran ScholarshipCochran Education Scholarship

To encourage people to become teachers, former MNEA Executive Director Peggy Cochran and her late husband Paul created this $500 scholarship in support of a Missouri college student who is a member of MNEA Aspiring Educators.

Karlovetz ScholarshipKarlovetz-Favero Scholarship 

This $1,000 scholarship will benefit a college student currently enrolled in a Missouri teacher education program. Martha Karlovetz, past president of MNEA and MNEA-Retired, created this scholarship in memory of her daughter Linda Favero, who was also a teacher.
