MNEA Recommendations Win Again: 87% Success in School Board Races

Missouri voters turned out on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to make their voices heard in school board elections across the state. With 87% of MNEA-endorsed candidates winning their races, it was a clear win for public education.

Missouri NEA local associations proudly follow a values-based recommendation process that focuses on what matters most, not party lines. Candidates are recommended when their values closely reflect MNEA’s beliefs and resolutions, including protecting the rights of students and education employees; ensuring every student has a qualified, caring teacher; and strengthening public education so educators have the resources they need to help every student succeed.

These pro–public education candidates were thoughtfully interviewed by committees of local members who live in the district, understand their communities, and know firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing local public schools.

Below is a summary of wins and losses from the April 7, 2026, election, reflecting the strong support for public education across Missouri.
