- National School Safety
Center, provides a wide range of information and linkages
to multiple resources.

- National Association
of School Resource Officers provides training dates
and locations as well as other resources for school resource
officers.
- Safe Schools Coalition
is a non-profit organization that works to reduce violence
and promote health and safety in schools. Grant resources
and workshops are listed.
- The National Crime Prevention
Council offers the free resource, "Stopping School
Violence."
- Various Initiatives Announced at November White
House Conference on School Safety provides information
on various programs, grants and publications that President
Clinton has proposed.
- "Keeping
Schools Open as Community Learning Centers: Extending
Learning in a Safe, Drug-Free Environment Before and After
School" gives practical ideas and highlights successful
programs for learning activities.
- "1998 Annual Report
on School Safety," the first annual report on school
crime and safety from NCES.
- According to the U.S. Department of Education's new addition
to their online library, there are several ingredients to
creating safe, orderly, drug-free schools. The booklet,
Creating
Safe and Drug-Free Schools: An Action Guide, provides
information on preventing juvenile violence, truancy, alternative
education programs for expelled students, mentoring in schools,
effective data collection for safe public schools, and exemplary
practices.
