MNEA offers beginning teachers incentives for becoming a member

Student Dues Rebate -Were you an MNEA-Student member? When you become a teacher, continue your MNEA membership and you will receive a rebate for the student dues you paid. Print a rebate form.

Reduced Dues - MNEA offers reduced dues to beginning teachers in qualifying districts. Call the MNEA Membership department at (573) 634-3202 to see if you qualify for the reduced dues program.

$100 Tutition Grant- Thanks to funding from Reliant Financial Services, MNEA members who are probationary teachers in their first five years of teaching can receive a $100 tuition grant toward the cost of a three-hour graduate course. 50 grants are awarded in the fall and summer sessions. Sign up for the Beginning Teacher Listserv
Connect with other beginning teachers to share teaching strategies and access master teachers, information and resources. The Missouri NEA Beginning Teacher listserv is a moderated electronic mailing list that provides helpful assistance to beginning teachers on a wide range of topics. If you have an email address, you can access the listserv and ask your first year colleagues or ask a master teacher about issues related to teaching, teacher licensure, evaluation, professional development, discipline, performance assessment, and the list goes on.
