NEA partners with Saturn,
Staples in Read Across Missouri Challenge
October/November 2001
This
year Missouri NEA’s Read Across America celebration will include
a Read Across Missouri reading contest. Children in kindergarten
through eighth grade will have an opportunity to compete for
a March 1 class pizza party and $250 for books in their classrooms.
The teacher of the winning class will receive a $100 gift
certificate to Staples, the Office Superstore.
The
contest, sponsored by MNEA, Saturn and Staples, will run from
Jan. 1 to Feb. 1 with the Saturn-sponsored pizza party on
March 1.
A prize will be awarded to the class that
reads the most books in grades K-4 and grades 5-8. Classes
of fewer than 15 students may team up with another class of
15 or fewer students.
The rules

The class that reads the most books
in a grade category wins the party and the book money.

Submit only one entry per class.

Books must be read between Jan. 1
and Feb. 1.

Books must be age appropriate.

Entries must be postmarked by Feb.

In the case of a tie, MNEA will conduct
a drawing to determine the winning class.

Your entry must include the title
of each book completed, the author of each book, the date
completed and a total of the books your class has read.
