MNEA hosts conference for future educators
Missouri
NEA’s Student NEA members, college students studying
to become educators, and FEA-Missouri, high school students
planning to enter the teaching profession, are teaming up
again for their annual professional-development conference.
At this conference, students have fun networking with other
students and learning from the pros. Participants grow professionally,
learn new strategies and share ideas and experiences as they
participate in activities and sessions centered around this
year’s theme, “Creatively Building Future Minds.”
The event is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15 through Saturday,
Feb. 16, and will be held at Lodge of Four Seasons, Lake Ozark.
The registration fee includes Friday night dinner and accommodations
(four per room), breakfast and lunch on Saturday, workshops,
activities and lots of fun.
Maddie Fennell’s session, “How to Nail Jell-O
to the Wall,” was a favorite last year, and she will
present the keynote at 7 p.m. on Friday. The Student Advisory
Committee is excited to have Brian Freeman, “The School
Daddy,” as the Saturday keynote speaker.
Registration details can be found at www.mnea.org.
Register before Jan. 25 for early bird discounts. Jan. 31
is the deadline for all registrations. FEA advisors must register
their group members. Both FEA sponsors and student association
advisors can register and attend without charge. For more
