Staples partners with Missouri NEA
to support public education
Recycle
for education
Saving your used inkjet cartridges could help a Missouri
child, teacher or other school employee in need. That’s
right. Missouri NEA is teaming up with Staples, The Office
Superstore, to recycle inkjet cartridges for education.
The project benefits education, the environment and consumers.
-
Educators—$1 for every “refurbishable”
inkjet cartridge raises funds to help education.
-
Environment—America discards
almost 500 million printer cartridges annually. Eighty
percent can be re-used.
-
Consumers—Refurbished print cartridges
cost less than new cartridges.
Here’s
how it works.
1. For every “refurbishable” ink cartridge delivered
to a Missouri NEA Regional
Office, Staples will donate $1 to the MNEA Humanitarian
Outreach Project for Education (HOPE) Fund.
-
Staples accepts all ink cartridge models. (About 80
percent are refurbishable for re-sale.)
-
If you don’t have a MNEA Regional Office in
your community, you can still establish a collection
location. Call Laverne
Copeland at MNEA, (800) 392-0236, for a large sticker
sign for your collection bin.
2. Funds from the recycling project will go to the MNEA
HOPE Fund, which helps Missouri children, teachers and
education employees exhibiting need in one of three areas:
The returns could be huge. America throws away almost 500
million cartridges annually, and there is no cap to what Missouri
NEA can earn for the HOPE Fund.
Staples Teacher Rewards
Staples
provides a program for teachers and education support professionals
whereby they get free delivery on any order. Also, during
back-to-school (July 15 - Sept. 15) and mid-year restocking
(Dec. 15 - Jan. 15), every $1 you spend will count as $2 toward
earning rewards. This program is designed to help educators
with their out-of-pocket spending.
For more information on Teacher Rewards, call (800) 793-3320
