Representative Assembly passes legislative
platform,
honors Shirley Cromer recipient
Delegates from across the state gathered in St. Louis for
Missouri NEA’s fall representative assembly, Nov. 5.
Topping their list of accomplishments is the adoption of MNEA’s
2010 legislative platform, which defines the priorities that
MNEA lobbyists and leaders will pursue when the Missouri General
Assembly convenes in January.

Shirley
Cromer Award
The
Shirley Cromer Leadership Award is funded annually through
the Shirley Cromer Memorial Fund. Each year, this award
is presented to a MNEA member who exemplifies qualities
of leadership and dedication to the Association. The
recipient, Rebeka McIntosh of Grandview NEA, receives
a financial grant to attend the NEA Midwest Regional
Leadership Conference or another conference of her choice.

Delegates also adopted a position
paper on Charter Schools, elected representatives to the
MNEA
Political Action Executive Council, recognized the Leila
Medley Quality Local Association Award recipients and honored
Shirley Cromer Award winner Rebeka McIntosh, Grandview NEA.
