2009 poster/essay contest
The Missouri
NEA Human Rights Committee sponsored the 2009 Martin Luther
King Jr. Poster Contest for K-12 students. "Embracing
Diversity: Living the Dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.”
was the theme for the 2009 contest.
Winners
were chosen at several levels: K–1, 2–3, 4–5,
6–8 and 9–12. U.S. Savings Bonds were awarded
to first-place ($100), second-place ($75) and third-place
($50) winners in each of the five categories. Teachers of
winning students received gift cards in the amount of $50
(first place), $30 (second place) and $20 (third place).
An MNEA
affiliate or school district hosted the initial contest and
submited first-, second- and third-place winners in any or
all of the five age categories (up to 15 entries per school
district).
