sponsor 2008 poster/essay contest
The Missouri
NEA Human Rights Committee and the Missouri Bar Young Lawyers
Section sponsored the 2008 Martin Luther King Jr. Poster Contest
for K-12 students. "Embracing
Diversity: Increasing Our Unity through the Teachings of Martin
Luther King Jr.” was the theme for the
2008 contest.
Winners
were chosen at several levels: K–1, 2–3, 4–5,
6–8 and 9–12. A $100 U.S. Savings Bond was awarded
to first-place winners in each of the five categories, and
a $75 bond was awarded to the second-place winners. Third-place
winners received a $50 Savings Bond. . Teachers of winning
students received $50 gift cards (first place), $30 (second
place) and $20 (third place).
An MNEA
affiliate or school district hosted the initial contest and
submited first-, second- and third-place winners in any or
all of the five age categories (up to 15 entries per school
district).
