MNEA Spring Representative Assembly

April 21-22, 2012

The Missouri NEA Spring Representative Assembly will be held on April 21-22, 2012 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, MO. Local association delegates, Board of Directors, leaders, members and staff come to the R.A. to focus on budget, bylaws, resolutions and elections. On Saturday, April 21, a luncheon will be held to honor our Education Support Professionals and to recognize our Horace Mann award winners. NEA Vice President Lily Eskelsen will be the guest speaker for this event.

Delegate Resources

Delegates, find a downloadable resource packet which contains pre-R A meeting dates, registration times, RA agenda, proposed bylaws changes, proposed budget and other information below. Delegates should attend a pre-RA meeting in their region, the webinar (March 26) or attend the Pre-RA meeting at Tan-Tar-A on April 20.

A limited number of RA packets will be available at all Pre-RA meetings as well as at the Representative Assembly. We will run enough copies of the budget for all of the delegates.

Spring RA delegates who cannot attend one of the Pre-RA meetings can register for the online webinar. The webinar is scheduled for March 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Luncheon Reservations

On Saturday, April 21 at 12 noon a luncheon will be held to honor our Education Support Professionals and to recognize our Horace Mann Award winners. You may purchase tickets online with a credit card or a check made payable and mailed to Missouri NEA.

Entree choices:

• Chicken Tuscany - Boneless chicken breast coated with bread crumbs, pan seared, topped with fresh mozzarella and marinara sauce, served with penne pomodoro and chef's choice of seasonal vegetables.
   
• Pasta Primavera (vegetarian) - Penne pasta tossed with peppers, zucchini, diced portobello mushrooms, diced roma tomatoes in a parmesan alfredo sauce.

Both entrees are served with a salad, dessert, fresh rolls and butter, coffee, iced tea, and water.

Hotel Reservations

Reservations at Tan-Tar-A can be made online by going to www.tan-tar-a.com and clicking on "Online Reservations". Once you are directed to the reservation system, click on "Groups and Conferences." Your code is "MNEA". Choose the dates and room type to make your reservations. Or you can call 1-800-826-8272 to reserve a room. The room rate is $113 per night plus tax for a single, double, or triple room. In order to guarantee availability and rates, make your reservation by April 2, 2012. After that date, rooms will no longer be available online. Call the above number to reserve a room after April 2.

Please join Missouri NEA in celebrating the 25th anniversary of MNEA-Retired on Friday, April 20 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, MO. You may purchase tickets online with a credit card or a check made payable and mailed to MNEA-R. The cost is $35 and includes a complimentary ticket to the Hoot with the Owls Dance. All ticket orders must be received by Friday, April 6.
