Find MNEA photos at flickr.com/photos/mnea
Only official MNEA Flickr friends have full access to the photo site.
If you are a Missouri NEA member and want to see or download MNEA photos, you can find the photos at www.flickr.com/photos/mnea/. The majority of files are private and only visible if you are signed in as an authorized “friend.” You will not see everything available if you simply go to the URL noted above.
How do you become a friend?
First, create a free Flickr account at www.flickr.com, which also requires that you establish a yahoo.com email. Once you create a free Flickr account, you will need to sign in at www.flickr.com. While signed in, you need to click on “Contacts” at the top of the page. Then click on “Invite.” Once you see the “Invite” screen, type debra.angstead@mnea.org in the email address line and Debra Angstead on the name line on the left side of the screen. Be sure to check the “This person is my friend” box. Also, complete the message customization area including your full name and local association in the text box on the right. I will allow access to MNEA members only. Once I receive your friend request, I’ll accept you into the group. Then you can view and download all photos.
How do you download photos?
- Click on “Contact List” within the “Contacts” drop-down menu. Then you should see debra.angstead listed as one of your friends. Click on debra.angstead to access the MNEA photo collection.
- Click on “Collections” to organize the photos into categories. This may help your search go faster.
- Click through the photos until you find one that you would like to download. Click on the photo to open it.
- Then, in the "Actions" drop-down menu, click “View all sizes.”
- This will open another screen where you will need to choose your image size. Veer away from the smaller sizes unless you are using them for an electronic newsletter or website. Choose either "large" or "original" if you are going to print the photo file. Original is the highest quality.
- After you have chosen which size to download, click on the blue "Download..." link. Click the “save” button in the pop-up box. This will allow you to specify where you want to save the photo to your computer for future use.
Become an MNEA Facebook fan, friend
Missouri NEA is joining you on Facebook. Search for the “Missouri National Education Association” fan page (http://www.facebook.com/missouri.nea) while logged into your Facebook account and become a “fan” of Missouri NEA simply by clicking the “Become a Fan” link. By becoming a fan of Missouri NEA you can:
- Receive periodic updates about professional development opportunities and events.
- Share great classroom resources by posting a link to the wall.
- Listen to MNEA’s podcasts (Behind the Scenes and MNEA on Collective Bargaining).
- Scroll through photos of MNEA events, like Summer Academy.
- Connect with other teachers through the online social network.
- Participate in the discussion boards.
Another option is to become a Facebook “friend” of MNEA by searching for “Missouri NEA” using the search box within Facebook. When you find the listing for “Missouri NEA,” just click the “add as friend” link.
As an MNEA Facebook “friend,” you’ll receive automatic updates in your Facebook news feed when MNEA posts notes, photos, links or podcasts to its profile. Tell us which posts you like, comment on posts, or share your message/photos with other MNEA friends by posting to MNEA’s wall.
