Educator Open House at the Butterfly House (May 9)

The Butterfly House in Chesterfield, MO is a popular science field trip destination. The Conservatory is a tropical paradise, year round, and home to more than 1,500 butterflies from all over the world. A field trip to the Butterfly House offers an unforgettable experience for students of all ages. In addition, the education staff offers top notch science programs for all ages of students.

You can also skip the hassle of arranging buses and chaperones by having the Butterfly House education staff come to your school! Their team of experts can design a lesson to meet your curriculum needs, including live animal encounters. Host the Butterfly House in your classroom, through school enrichment programs, and at your district’s family science or STEAM nights. The Butterfly House can also enhance your next education in-service day!

The Butterfly House will be hosting an Educator Night Open House on May 9th from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Guests will have the chance to experience live animal encounters, hear from expert speakers, and learn the many ways the Butterfly House can support student learning. The evening will also include light refreshments and raffles, including a giveaway of a free outreach presentation!

Even though we are not at school supporting Missouri students, members continue to help every day during this crisis. MNEA wants to share your stories as we struggle through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are hearing about members who are continuing to care for their students by

  • volunteering at school district Grab & Go meal distribution centers and food drives
  • providing child care for essential medical staff
  • shopping for the elderly so they don’t have to leave the safety of their homes
