Apply now for CONNECTIONS grants from MNEA, California Casualty
Ten grants of up to $300 each will be awarded from MNEA’s Charitable Fund. Connections Grants are made possible by California Casualty Auto and Home Insurance, a Missouri NEA member benefit partner.
Applications for the next grant cycle are due Oct. 8, 2012.
Mini-Grant Guidelines
• Application must be typed or completed in ink.
• Any MNEA member or group of members is eligible to apply for a grant of up to $300.
Funds may be used to purchase materials (manipulatives, books, software, electronics, classroom plants or animals, etc.), or supplies (paper, field trip expenses, etc.) for a project that includes non-fiction writing. Projects must align with a Common Core Standard and current 2.0 Missouri Grade-Level Expectations (K-8) or Course-Level Expectations (9-12). • Grant funds must be spent by June 2013.
• A committee of MNEA members will review all applications received by the deadline and make the final selection of grant awardees based on the following criteria:
- Supports student-centered learning
- Includes non-fiction writing
- Supports innovative/creative ideas
- Enhances student motivation
• Grade level distribution will be considered as grants are awarded. Descriptions of winning grants will be posted on the Missouri NEA website in December.
