A one-day drive-in conference especially for Education Support Professionals (ESP).
If you’re a school employee working as a paraprofessional, nurse, aide, secretary, food service or transportation employee, custodian, building/grounds/ maintenance or security personnel, then this conference is for you.
The conference will be set up with three sets of breakouts. The first morning breakout will be centered around "My Local," with sessions about bargaining, organizing, and other topics to help you lead and support your local. The second breakout of the day - "My Job" - will offer topics to help you in your career, specific to your job category. The last breakout of the day is all about you - "My Self" - with sessions on relaxation, social networking, and saving money using MNEA and NEA Member Benefits.
Sessions to be presented include:
- Bullying on the Bus - What YOU Can Do (specifically for transportation employees)
- Impacting Student Progress from the Control Panel (for secretaries and administrative assistants)
- Panel Discussion for Paraprofessionals
- Taking the Steps to Bargaining for ESP Locals
- The Evolution of School Nursing (specifically for school nurses)
- The Power of Communication and Connections
- Plus more!
Car pooling is encouraged. The registration fee will be refunded at the conference for each registered participant who drives at least three other participants to the conference.
Note: Hotel accommodations are not included in the registration cost of this event.
